Our client is a national provider of innovative and efficient packaging solutions based in Melbourne’s south-east. At this time we are seeking a motivated Service Manager to perform a hybrid-type management/service role in managing and leading a team of technicians and assisting with on-site installation and servicing of systems in the field. On a daily basis, your duties and responsibilities will include:

As a Service manager:

• Supporting sales staff with technical inquiries
• Managing spare parts inventory and supplier negotiations
• Liaising with suppliers both onshore and offshore on technical issues
• Attending production and business planning meetings
• Engaging with customers to ensure client satisfaction
• Working alongside technicians on escalated issues as well as performing hands-on breakdown response when required

As a Hands on Technician:

• Installation of packaging machinery in the field
• Attending to breakdowns and troubleshooting
• Conducting preventative maintenance
• Customer training

Our ideal candidate will hold the following skills/qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years experience in a technical support role
• Minimum 2 years in a technical management/team leader role highly desirable
• Solid knowledge of the food packaging/printing industry and related machinery
• Sound knowledge of mechanical/electrical/mechatronic based equipment in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Good understanding of computer programs – Microsoft Office, MYOB etc.
